We got back Sunday night from Mexico. Since we stayed at an all inclusive our return to domesticity is challenging. No longer can we hop down to the buffet for dinner or stop by the 24 hour sports bar for a drink and a snack. I think we’ll adjust – eventually.
Anyway, the trip to Mexico was mostly good. We stayed at the RIU Santa Fe, an all inclusive a few minutes outside of Cabo San Lucas. Contrary to a lot of the reviews we read on TripAdvisor, this resort is awesome. In a lot of the reviews people complained about walking too much around the resort, the food being bad and the condition of the rooms. Just to set the record straight – walking doesn’t seem to be such a bad idea after you consume unlimited food and drink all day. And speaking of the food – it was good, not gourmet, but not bad. We seemed to have no problem getting our fill. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. Overall, I thought the resort was awesome.
The highlights of the trip included snorkeling at Santa Maria Cove, haggling in the market place, the swim up bar, sunbathing, and of course the wedding of our friends Caitlin and Ryan. Their wedding reception was a lot of fun and we danced so much we were sore the next day.
Unfortunately, on our last night there Travis got food poisoning and spent most of the night in the bathroom proclaiming, “I hate Mexico!” over and over again. Luckily, by the time we got on our flight home he was feeling better.
I’m looking forward to getting back into our routine and getting on the fast moving train of our wedding planning. I’m hoping to have our venue tied down soon. The Save the Dates arrived today and we’ll be sending those out soon too. Things are really starting to move along and it is really exciting. More info to come soon!
